An agreement was made between Kiltimagh Amentity Park Committee, IRD Kiltimagh and Mayo County Council that the council would temporarily fund the opening of the outside playground area to the community of Kiltimagh. The KAP Committee & Mayo CoCo & the Castlebar Municipal District Councillors have since then been working towards a centrally located Amenity Park for the town of Kiltimagh. It was decided that the Amenity Park would be an extensive project that would incorporate all the needs of the Community in Kiltimagh and the Community Groups and Schools. This amenity park should consist of a play area for children and incorporate equipment suitable for use by children with special needs and be fully wheelchair accessible. It should also include a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area), exercise equipment, walking and cycling area in the outer perimeter, with colourful sensory garden and seating area.
